• An HP engineer will go on site when a machine is down. He will not repair the broken part on the spot, but he will replace the part, with an item from good stock. This is to make sure the downtime is a short as possible, because time is money and downtime is loss
• The broken (switched) spare part will be sent to our facility, via the most climate neutral transportation means. 
• At our reception the first check will be done. As this step is part of our reversed logistics process, we are receiving many parts a day.  Mostly warranty and model checks are being done at this stage. 
• When the part is being repaired by mt unirepair, the part will be transferred to the repair department. There the technician is doing the second check, even though we call it “first check”. Since the parts we repair are built in very expensive machines, we ensure the highest quality of all repair centers in the world, which are connected to HP Indigo

To guarantee the highest quality we have several means, tools, and equipment available, like:

• Highly trained employees to perform manual checks on the parts.
• Testing equipment to mimic the machines (JIGs) and thus the functionality of the spare parts being repaired.  
• Stress test equipment to check if the parts are built strong enough and according to the specs. 
• HP Indigo testing presses, to be able to test the more complex parts, which cannot be tested on a JIG. For example, parts are being repaired, which can only be checked and tested, by performing a quality print. The defects can then only be found on the printed material, like paper of packaging. 
• For our repairs on optical parts/equipment, we have clean room and of course certified personnel. In the clean room we can, for example, fully repair an inline scanner, which has optical parts inside. Of course, these parts need to be repaired in a completely dust free environment. 

• After the “first check” is done, the part will be repaired. Since we are repairing very fragile parts, like electronical boards, which can be damaged by just creating friction with one’s clothes, the complete area is ESD-secured.  
  • All repairs are being done by a predefined procedure, which ensures zero mistakes (almost zero mistakes). We are still working with people, so human error is still possible. 
  • The boards in need of repair are being checked by hand and by testing JIG (on a testbed). A testbed is making sure all connections on the board are being tested, so there is no defect inside the board, because a component can be broken, but also the board itself. 
• That being said, each part will go through an extensive final inspection by our quality department before the part will go to the packing department. This final inspection catches/eliminates any mistakes done in the previous steps. 
  • When the part is within specs, visually perfect and all information is recorded in our system, the part will go to the warehouse to be packed. Again, the packing is being done according to a pre-defined procedure. 

As experience taught us over the years, it is not easy to achieve such a high-quality level (as we have at mt unirepair), if there are no set procedures or working methods. To find out what is the best way to repair a spare part, we have a highly skilled engineering team, which can research and develop just about any repair or testing process. Because of our high knowledge the engineering team is technically supporting many departments at our customers.
